This curio cabinet was destined for the landfill when I found it. Naturally, I had to haul it home and give it a bit of TLC. With a bit of paint and the addition of a few shelves, I think it’s a sensational place to display things that matter to you.
Once I got this cabinet home, I needed to thank my lucky stars that the glass doors made the trip without shattering. That might have been an expensive addition otherwise.

To begin, I took those cabinet doors off and worked on the sanding to eliminate dings, dents and all-around weathering. Then I vacuumed it all, inside and out to get rid of the grit.
Here I used a paint with primer product from Behr that I had left over from another project. I calculate that the cost for the paint was about $6.00, which represents my entire investment. Notice that I had some fine detail on the bottom door panel of the cabinet to do in white. I used painter’s tape to keep the lines clean but I only applied it after the two coats of gray paint had dried thoroughly.
I also found pulls in a coffee can in my garage. I painted them white as you can see. I think it’s worth every bit of my $6.00. What say you?
